Bleach is a manga series featured in Weekly Shōnen Jump. It follows the adventures of a male highschool student, Ichigo Kurosaki, who has always been able to see ghosts. He inherits his parents' destiny after he obtains the powers of a Shinigami — a Death God, similar to the Grim Reaper — from Rukia Kuchiki. His new-found powers allow him to take on the duties of defending humans from Hollows and guiding departed souls to the afterlife. He sets out on a journey to save Rukia, who's going to be executed for committing treason by giving Ichigo Kurosaki Soul Reaper powers.
