Dio Brando (ディオ・ブランドー - Dio Burandō) is the main antagonist of Part 1 and Part 3 of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series.
Character Info
DIO, born Dio Brando, is a cunning villain of little conscience and an insatiable hunger for power. Originally, Dio was a human man of low birth but a peerless ambition. After murdering his father, Dario Brando, Dio was adopted into the Joestar family by George Joestar and raised alongside his son, Jonathan Joestar. This led to a series of events that resulted in Dio rejecting his humanity to become a vampire using the stone mask and with Jonathan defeating him but failing to kill him, ultimately resulting in Jonathan's death and Dio's presumed death.
In 1984, Dio's coffin is found, and he reemerges, being referred to as just "DIO" from this point on, travelling and impregnating multiple women, with one being the mother of Giorno Giovanna. In 1986, DIO meets Enya and acquires his Stand power, The World. DIO comes to realise The World's ability to stop time briefly, and hones it further.
In late 1988, DIO begins his moves against the Joestar family with the ambition to create a perfect world for him and his servants, as well as drain the blood of the Joestars to fully fuse with Jonathan's body and improve his control of The World.
Once Jonathan's descendants, Joseph Joestar and Jotaro Kujo, finally reach him in Cairo, Egypt, Jotaro and DIO finally clash.
DIO is working with the Venoms. He infects Jotaro Kujo with an Umbras Cube. The CaC and Gaara are sent to deal with the threat. He leaves once they show up.
DIO later encounters Yugi and takes an interest in his millennium puzzle he infects him with the venom as well but Yugi is later saved by piccolo and the CaC character.
DIO shows up again along with evil clones of Jotaro and faces off against the real Jotaro, Deku and the CaC character along after being defeated he disappears and is not seen again for the rest of the game's story mode.
Trivia
DIO as well as Jotaro are pulled from the same timeline during the final battle in Cairo, Egypt.
DIO and Jotaro were the final characters revealed for the game before its release.
DIO is the only character who is only playable on the nighttime stages if the player selects him in either their team or the opponent's team you can only play on nighttime stages, this is probably due to him being a vampire.

In the beginning of Todoroki’s reveal trailer DIO can be seen in the San Francisco stage this could possibly mean that at one point he was planned to be playable on all stages or by hacking the game you’re able to play as him on any stage.
DIO along with Jotaro and Dai were originally planned to be playable in the previous shonen jump crossover game J-Stars Victory VS as they all datamined in the games files along with Yoh from Shaman King who was going to be a support character while the other 3 were gonna be playable but unfortunately all of them were cut interesting enough Jotaro, DIO and Dai all made it in as playable characters in Jump Force DIO however was actually mentioned by Jonathan in the story mode j adventure.
